(UK, 1060181) Browse eventsThe Dancing Eye Syndrome Support Group was formed in 1988 with the principal aim of providing a link for parents of children with D.E.S. both locally and nationally. The Dancing Eye Syndrome Trust provides support and information to families of children with Dancing Eye Syndrome. The Dancing Eye Syndrome Support Group became a trust in 1997, giving parents who may feel isolated an opportunity to talk to others who are in the same situation as themselves and who may have already experienced similar problems. In this way members can provide mutual support and encouragement to parents whose children have been recently diagnosed. The trust arranges meetings for members and produces a newsletter containing information and ideas which could be useful for families.
(UK, 1117694) Browse eventsThank you for considering supporting the Olney-Newton Link. We are at the Olney end of the Link, a small town in North Buckinghamshire, at the other end are our friends in Newton, a small community in Sierra Leone. Our Link is like a many-layered twinning. We aim to advance education (we have provided toilets and books for schools) and helped to relieve poverty (weve funded the rebuilding of war-damaged homes and recently a Skills Centre where vital skills can be passed on, to help the community help themselves out of poverty). We have made a start, but, with the help of more donations, we want to do more. Communication has had to be mainly by mobile phone which is costly and unreliable. We want to bring the internet to Newton and to provide generators to power computers, drawing the people closer to us and to the global community with all the that will bring. Currently we are raising funds to enable the town of Newton to build 4 Community toilets. £5 will pay for the schools to post packages of letters from their students to ours. £12 will provide petrol to run a generator for the Skills Centre for one day. £15 will pay the cost of transporting goods we provide from the ports to Newton. £33 will pay for a wooden chair and table (made in Sierre Leone) for the Skills Centre. £60 will pay for a reconditioned PC for the Skills Centre. £65 will pay for one metal disk and chair. £100 will pay for shipping a carton of second hand books, medical supplies, reconditioned computers etc to Sierre Leone.

Wendy’s Wish is a family run charity that started in memory of Wendy Reed, who died on 6th January 2017, 5 years after being diagnosed with “ocular melanoma” (a type of eye cancer). When someone has cancer, the effects reach far beyond the patient and our family motto has always been “we’re all in this together”. As a family, we set up the charity to raise money for the Eye Tumour Research Fund and to help cancer patients and their families, at the same time as raising the profile of all forms of eye cancer. Please donate to support our cause. Thank you. Charity No: 1175368 Find out more Website Please click here to visit our website Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Wendys-Wish-435892196750200/
