'Walk the Plank' (UK, 301742) Browse events

YTD Raised: £130.00

Bighton Village Hall's charitable objective is to serve the needs of the community of Bighton & Gundleton and visitors to the area with a facility for recreation, arts, culture, public meetings and Parish events. ‘Walk the Plank’ is a campaign to raise up to £20,000 for structural repairs to the village hall. Discovered during the self-funded toilet renovation project in January 2026, urgent repairs are required to replace rotted structural timber frames as well as water proofing the building structure including replacing cladding planks and insulation. Would you like to help by making a minimum donation of £20 to have your name inscribed on one or more of the cladding planks for future generations to discover? Your name will also be included on a Roll of Honour that will be displayed in the Hall. As well as asking for support from the village, we are working hard to find funding from outside organisations. Should we exceed our target or the repairs cost less than expected, the additional money raised will go into a fund towards future projects to improve the hall such as the kitchen improvement project, provision of a hearing loop system and a new sound system. Our overall objective is to future proof the hall for its long-term viability by providing a venue that village residents and those from our adjoining local communities will want to visit and enjoy.
