This technology enables radiotherapy to be delivered with pinpoint accuracy, significantly reducing side effects, minimising damage to healthy tissues and enabling cancer patients to recover sooner from their treatment. The scanner will be installed in a new Radiotherapy Unit at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital that is due to open early in 2014. This facility will make a huge difference to hundreds of cancer sufferers. It means they will no longer have to face long and debilitating journeys over a period of many weeks to receive treatment at a centre much further away. Only £46,000 to go ..............
