(UK, 1187494) The Alumier Foundation is AlumierMD's primary global philanthropic project. Its initiatives have enabled hundreds of students to further their education, changing their lives forever. AlumierMD is a global community of skincare experts united by a commitment to education. As part of our dedication to learning, we communicate information about why skincare choices matter, which includes how using products made with sustainably sourced ingredients can help to protect our patients and our planet. Education is deeply rooted in the foundation of AlumierMD. So, when we met a remarkable man on a mission to change the lives of his community with the power of education, we were compelled to join forces with him to build a school for his students in South Africa. The Alumier Foundation has enabled hundreds of students to further their education and bring light to their community. From just 30 pupils in 2011, today over 500 students are currently receiving education at the Nhlengelo Primary School. The Alumier Foundation is currently raising funds: To expand the school by building two new classrooms and other infrastructure. In this way we can endeavour to make sure that no child is left behind

YTD Raised: £506.08• Youth Engagement Solutions Ltd (YES) is a charity which aims to turn disadvantaged children and young people away from antisocial behaviour, unemployment and social exclusion whilst helping them to play an active role in their communities. • Our Charity works with a troubled demographic ranging up to the age of 30, from across London but the majority of its customers come from Brent and the surrounding boroughs. • The YES team was established in 2008 to provide youth services through another charity based in Cricklewood-London. In 2015, as a result of drastic cuts in funding, this charity withdrew these services and YES was incorporated to maintain this essential work. • In response to our customers’ needs the YES team, partners and funders created YES the Charity in order to continue this successful youth service. • Since 2008, YES (formerly as part of another charity, and then as a standalone organisation) has worked with over 3,250 young people. Our Objectives 1. Turn young people away from antisocial behaviour, unemployment and exclusion and play an active role in their community. 2. Reduce offending, re-offending and anti-social behaviour whilst improving social mobility and community cohesion. 3. Increase youth access to education, training and employment. 4. Promote and support the health and well-being of young people and their access to health care. 5. Increase participation of young people in sport. Developing Cricklewood Wanderers FC.

Dumfries and Galloway Canine Rescue Centre

YTD Raised: £506.00Dumfries and Galloway Canine Rescue Centre was opened in March 2003 on the site of rescue kennels formerly run by another charity. A group of local people, supported by the local media and residents of Dumfries and Galloway, set out to raise sufficient funds to keep a dog rescue and rehoming facility in Dumfries and Galloway. A registered charity was set up (SCO30991) and later the organisation became a company limited by guarantee. Our rescue centre services the whole of Dumfries and Galloway but, when space permits, we will take in dogs from pounds in England and from Northern Ireland to save them from destruction. We have a contract with our local council to look after stray dogs while they wait to be reclaimed by their owners and to rehome them if they are not claimed. We are licensed by the local authority for the care of dogs. We take in around 350 dogs a year and have consistently rehomed about 300 during each year of our operations to date. We are very proud that there are a great many people whose lives have been enriched by the companionship given by one of our dogs. Our web site has enabled us to reach out beyond Dumfries and Galloway and we have rehomed dogs from Dorset to Orkney. As well as rehoming dogs and raising the funds to run our centre, our team carries out visits to talk to local organisations and schools as well as receiving visits from schools, colleges and other groups. On referral from our local social services department, we take in welfare cases, providing temporary care for pets during a time of personal difficulty for their owners. We microchip all our rehomed dogs and provide this service for others. We use the services of a trained dog behaviourist to augment the skills of our staff. We have recently begun a pilot project ongoing support for dog adopters when the behaviour of their pet is challenging. Our staff are trained to assess incoming dogs and to implement training plans to overcome any potential problem behaviours. If a dog finds difficulty in coping with life in kennels, we try to place them with foster carers until a permanent home can be found. Our sponsor a dog (SAD) scheme allows us to provide ongoing support for elderly or chronically sick dogs in a home environment where they can thrive. We believe strongly that our function is to serve both human and canine members of our community in Dumfries and Galloway. This gives us the flexibility to offer a personal service, responding to individual needs and sets us apart from nationally based organisations. However, we aspire to equal these organisations by adopting best practice in running our rescue and rehoming service and were proud to become members of the Association of Dog and Cat Homes.

YTD Raised: £505.00Hartlepool blind welfare association has been successfully running since 1918. We have numerous classes and a home visiting service available to all of our members. We provide daily living skills, including cookery classes. This helps our member not only with healthy eating but also socially as a high majority live in isolation. We give support, information, advice and guidance for visually impaired people in Hartlepool regarding many things such help accessing facilities, support with new equipment and filling out forms and documents. People are encouraged to visit the centre to find new friends and experience many new activities such as dominos, chess, checkers and card games. We offer a newsletters and a talking newspaper which all of our members are welcome to sign up to. We also offer our members the opportunity to attend our monthly book club. Our home visiting service allows us to visit people in there home and to assess what individual attention and support they need. We can also offer aids, which will help them themselves better to cope more independently. We have recently started offering technology training, with the capability of voice over and magnification has revolutionised.
