It will foster education, training, scientific research, tourism, industry and community cultural development, and revitalise regional economies across three states of Australia. The Australian Opal Centre is managed by Lightning Ridge Opal and Fossil Centre Inc, a not-for-profit organisation. Isolated and disadvantaged communities have contributed over $850,000 in cash and donated items worth more than $2 million to the Centre’s magnificent national collection, acquired a breathtaking site and commissioned Glenn Murcutt and Wendy Lewin – two of Australia’s greatest architects – to design an energy-efficient building set to become a 21st century architectural icon. This brilliant project is a gift to the world from the people of Australia’s opal fields. Now, they need your help to realise their vision. Give what you can, and we’ll create a priceless treasure for this and future generations.

Thanks for visiting our MyDonate page!We are Mums and Families, a charity that aims to break down cultural, religious and racial boundaries to help build stronger communities. We do this by focusing on running fun events where mums and carers of primary school children can 'learn about each other, from each other'. The mums and carers then take their learning back to their families. We believe that we have developed a relatively cheap, effective way to help mums and carers really start to appreciate what they have in common with people they previously thought were different. We'd love to link up with other school-based communities to help them set up similar groups around the West Midlands, and even further afield, but we need to find effective ways to tell them about it.We have a very low cost, small office space and a fantastic team of volunteers, but we need your donations to develop our website and publications to spread the word!Over the years we've managed to bring together hundreds of participants and we make sure they all go away being able to understand others in their community at least a little bit better. And it's all done through fun events, where everyone goes home with a smile on their face - a huge contrast, we hope, from the grim stories we get fed in the news about attacks motivated by misguided hatred or mistrust of others. Please help us to expand and grow, and push our positive message out there!Thank you Charity No: 1167922 Find out more Website Please click here to visit our website Twitter https://twitter.com/mumsandfamilies
