Mission The Mission of the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists (AAIM) is to prevent deaths and injuries caused by intoxicated or distracted motorists and to assist impaired driving crash victims and their families in Illinois. Philosophy We believe that deaths and injuries caused by drunk & drugged driving are not accidents, but are the tragic results of willful conduct. The label of "accident" obscures the causative factor of alcohol/drug abuse, and fails to recognize driving under the influence as a crime. We believe that being under the influence of alcohol, or any other drug, does not absolve one of accountability for ones actions; rather, the lack of accountability develops a climate of irresponsibility - and leads to an increase in the DUI problem. We believe that driving is a privilege, not a right, granted by society to those members who comply with rules established for the good of all; that any benefits an individual derives from driving are secondary to the safety of others; and that the economic impact associated with the loss of driving privileges is the concern only of the individual driver, and should not out-weigh the safety of others. Life, not livelihood, is the issue, and should be center most in the mind of the Court when sentencing persons guilty of DUI. We believe that the law enforcement agencies and the judicial system must be sensitive to the trauma of the victims of drunk/drugged driving in order to avoid causing still further emotional injury and to guard against inequity in the disposition of DUI cases. We know that drunk/drugged driving is a complex social problem, and no single simple solution exists. Rather, a multifaceted solution encompassing many elements must include elements of education to heighten public awareness; formal education in primary and secondary schools, deterrence through law enforcement; and rehabilitation. Such an approach will require the coordination of public agencies and private organizations as never before. Purpose AAIM heightens public awareness of the devastation caused by intoxicated motorists AAIM presses for effective legislation and strict enforcement AAIM involves the community in meeting its mission AAIM supports victims and their families emotionally, legally and financially.

It’s used by children of all ages, however the park is run-down and needs refurbishment. If this doesn’t happen it will fall out of use and it will be lost to the community. We want to revitalise the play park with new equipment and activity trails for toddler and junior play. The games pitch will be improved for team sports and individual games. Also included is a quieter sensory area for sitting amongst community maintained gardens as well as tables and seating for families and picnics. It will be a place for the village to be proud of and enjoy for generations to come. Shincliffe Community Association supports residents of all ages in the villages of Shincliffe and High Shincliffe. It is involved with many community activities including: indoor bowling, keep fit, line dancing, rambling, youth club, pantomime, youth football and play park facilities.
