Barnton Baptist Churt meet at the 'Music Box' at Stevenson College in Edinburgh each Sunday morning. We are just a bunch of ordinary people seeking to worship an extraordinary God.  Many of us have discovered that God not only cares about people but wants to be intimately involved with their lives.  He cares about us and cares deeply about the world in which we live.  At Barnton we not only seek to know this God better but to discover together what it really means to follow him, and learn what is in his heart for us our families and loved ones and for our communities. It is exciting to realise that God not only has plans for us, but plans for the world in which we live.  As we come together we can discover something more of how God can use us to make a difference, even if only in a small way to this world in which we live. In specific support of our international responsibilities as a church with Mission at its heart, we are working with Compassion UK to link with the island of La Gonave in Haiti. We are sending out a team of

Aunties and Uncles (Queensland) Limited (AU, 27055840045) Browse events

YTD Raised: $0.00

Aunties and Uncles Queensland (A&U) is an early intervention and prevention mentoring program helping vulnerable and socially disadvantaged children aged 1-11 years, within the greater Brisbane and Gold Coast areas. Our work specifically focuses on the creation and delivery of unique one-to-one mentoring relationships between responsible adult mentors and these children. Mentorships offer children stability, guidance and exposure to new, positive experiences along with providing the support for the development of valuable life skills helping them to reach their full potential and grow into healthy and happy adults. Each mentorship lasts for a minimum of 12 months, with many relationships continuing well beyond this. Despite its worthwhile and important role, Aunties and Uncles Queensland receives no government funding meaning we need to raise 100% of the funds to run our program. This limits the number of children and their families that we are able to help. With a waiting list that continues to grow, your support will enable A&U to facilitate new mentorships including recruiting, assessing, inducting and training our volunteers to support them in their very important roles as mentors. Put simply the more funds received - the more children we can help!
