(UK, 302270) Browse eventsThank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate. We are raising money to fund the rebuild, or at least substantial refurbishment, of our group HQ in Basingbourne Woods. Our aim is to provide a modern facility to support Scouting in Church Crookham for at least the next 30 years. Please help us to get our initial fundraising off the ground. All donations will be gratefully received. History:1st Crookham Scout Group was formed in 1912 and moved onto our current site in Basingbourne Woods in 1965. Our first hall dates from that year and a second hall was added in 1979. Both halls have asbestos roofs, which now need to be replaced, are generally showing their age and are not making great use of the space for a modern, large Scouting group.Where we Are At Now:We are currently in the pre-planning stage to cost 3 potential structural options. No matter which path we end up taking we will need to raise a substantial amount of capital. We have been putting money aside for the last 15 years to give us a starting fund, but it is only the start. (UK, 1115506) Browse eventsMushtaq Welfare Trust is the brainchild of a family in Manchester who have set up their own charity and school for orphaned and poverty-stricken girls on the site of their former family home in Khanewal, Pakistan. The Choudry family created the registered charity to educate girls aged between five and eleven-years-old in the Punjab region. The family decided to demolish their ancestral family home and build a six-storey school to bring hope to some of the poorest youngsters and families in the area. As living costs increase, education is seen as a luxury, with preference given to the males of a family, who are seen as future breadwinners. However, the motto of MWT is To educate a man is to educate an individual, but to educate a woman is to educate a nation.
