The North West Auckland Fire & Emergency Services provide rescue, education, and support in one of New Zealand’s busiest recreational areas. With terrain including Woodhill's large forest areas, Muriwai’s treacherous beaches and local rural & urban communities, our crews serve hundreds of thousands of residents and visitors each year. We also work with communities to reduce the incidence and impact of fires, road crashes, and beach related injuries through educational programmes and training. One Family has a clear vision: a world of equal opportunity and prosperity for all. Supported by technology and the global power of digital, we transcend the identities that separate us and live together harmoniously: as one family. By 2050, there will be a further three billion people living on this planet, all in need of food, water, education, healthcare and income. With billions of people already living in poverty and dying from the consequences of global inequality, we need to act now to look after each other. Despite the daily threat of war and catastrophic environmental change, this is a world of great opportunity and promise. We are committed to achieving profound and meaningful change that benefits everyone in our global family. We believe in harnessing the power of our vast network to seek out and partner with the very best organisations working on the ground to deliver aid, disaster relief and wider humanitarian support. We trust our partners and recognise that as natives to the region, they know best what the immediate needs in the vicinity are. Once these have been identified, our expert team works in close collaboration with our partners to source, fundraise, innovate and implement, so that we can continue to uplift and empower the work happening on the ground.

Most people in Australia have some experience with anxiety and depression, whether it is personal or via family, friends or work colleagues. In fact, 1 in 5 women in Australia will experience depression and 1 in 3 will have anxiety during their lifetime. For men, 1 in 8 will experience depression and 1 in 5 men will experience anxiety. The good news is that, just like physical illnesses, depression and anxiety can be treated. The sooner a person seeks help, the sooner he or she can recover. beyondblue’s work is aimed at achieving an Australian community that understands depression and anxiety, empowering every person, at any life-stage, to seek help. beyondblue is an independent, not-for-profit organisation working to increase awareness and understanding of depression, anxiety and suicide prevention in Australia and reduce associated stigma. We work across a range of settings and bring together expertise in order to provide information and programs to support those affected by depression and anxiety, and improve the mental health of every person in Australia. Learn more about anxiety and depression at www.beyondblue.org.au, or talk it through with our support service - phone 1300 22 4636 (local call cost from a landline), or email or chat to us online at www.beyondblue.org.au/getsupport
