Meningitis Now is a charity with almost 30 years’ experience. Formed in October this year by bringing together Meningitis UK and Meningitis Trust, founders of the meningitis movement in the UK. We exist to save lives and rebuild futures by funding research, raising awareness and providing support.
St Luke's gives Sheffield people with life-limiting illness the best possible quality of life. Our skilled, dedicated staff care for 1,400 adult patients a year - all ages, from all walks of life throughout the city - all free of charge. We need to raise over £4.9 million each year to keep going.
CanTeen exists for the benefit of young people (aged 13 to 24) living with cancer – be they patients, siblings or bereaved siblings. Our mission is to support, develop and empower them throughout their cancer experience, with the ultimate goal that they not only survive it but that they go on to thrive beyond it. Despite a big setback early in their lives, CanTeen aims that when our members ‘graduate’ from our organisation, they do so better placed for a better future. RACQ CareFlight Rescue is a not-for-profit helicopter rescue service that provides rapid response emergency medical care to residents and visitors of southern and central Queensland and northern NSW. Established in 1981, our helicopters and crew are on standby 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to offer peace of mind to more than 3.5 million residents across 30 council regions. CareFlight has grown to meet the ever-increasing demand for aero-medical services and now comprises a fleet of eight community rescue helicopters based on the Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast and Bundaberg. CareFlight offers one of the only lifelines to families living in rural and regional areas, often located many hours away from the states major hospitals. CareFlight Rescue is an integral link in the lifesaving chain of survival and our dedicated medical teams are usually tasked to four types of missions; primary rescues at the scene of accidents, inter-hospital transfers, neonatal retrievals and search and rescue operations. CareFlight relies on community donations to keep our choppers flying.
