We provide a free 24-hour helpline for people who are upset, troubled or who are feeling suicidal. We have been working in Coventry since 1964 and are proud holders of the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service. This is the highest award that can be given to local volunteer groups in the UK and is equivalent to an MBE. It costs about £50,000 a year to run our branch and we raise this ourselves through our charity shop, fundraising activities and donations. You can use this website to contribute funds in any way that you want. For example, by making a one off or regular donation, setting up a fundraising page for a personal challenge or participation in an organised event, collecting to mark a special occasion such as a birthday or anniversary or giving in recognition or memory of a special person.

The Charitable giving aspects of our activities are via Rotary Club Of Scarborough Cavaliers Trust Fund, charity number 1048418 The Rotary Club of Scarbough Cavaliers Scarbough has two Rotary Clubs, the Cavaliers are its youngest Club and was formed in 1977-8. Like all Rotary Clubs we exist to do some good for our own community but also for those overseas, and we aim to have a good time doing so! Besides today’s event which will raise money for many charities, especially the Children’s Department of Scarborough Hospital, the Club is involved locally in initiatives supporting homeless people via The Rainbow Centre, in supporting disadvantaged children via the Mucktubs Nursery in Castle Ward, and in supporting numerous local charities by our organising the annual Scarborough Community Fair. Internationally, the Club supports Rotary’s continuing efforts to eradicate polio, the Rotary Organisation has taken a lead role in doing this. We also support water and sanitation efforts in Africa. Socially, we also have links with Clubs in Holland and Ireland. We meet each Wednesday evening, usually at 7.30pm at The Royal Hotel, Scarborough. In addition to these meetings we hold numerous social events held away from The Royal Hotel throughout the year. The Club is open to members of either sex.
