Edinburgh College Development Trust (UK, SC044657) Browse events

YTD Raised: £20.00

Edinburgh College Development Trust charity supports students in extra ways to those that the College is able to provide, to help students to achieve the brighter futures that they want. Edinburgh College students can have extra challenges: they haven't always got on well previously in mainstream education, or come from the most supportive backgrounds. Nearly one in 10 of students come from the 10% most deprived areas of Scotland. We raise money to give grants and scholarships to individuals and groups of students, and we fund projects. We particularly support projects that improve the future employability of students, help them to develop life skills, and maintain positive mental wellbeing so that students can maximise their time at college to achieve the futures that they want.

Friends of Chernobyl's Children (FOCC) Medway is an independent charity supporting children in Belarus who are affected by the Chernobyl disaster. We are a small charity, supporting children in Belarus who were, and still are, affected by the Chernobyl disaster. We do this by providing respite and care for a small group of children from areas in Belarus which are most affected. Children are welcomed into the homes of host families for 4 weeks each year, for a maximum period of 5 years.During their month’s stay, each child visits a dentist and optician and takes home with them a year’s supply of vitamins to supplement their meagre diets back in Belarus.Although the aim of the visit is to improve their health, the children have a month of fun, partaking in many activities and outings. They go home with happy memories and the knowledge that there are people in England that love and care for them. Please donate to support our cause.
