We are developing a new hospice in Winchester to provide local palliative and end of life care for local people. Currently there is no hospice provision in the area, and patients requiring hospice care and services travel to Andover, West End or Basingstoke. Our aim is to raise funds to restore Burrell House, a 2 storey building within the grounds of the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, to develop a hospice. This will provide 10 ensuite inpatient beds offering local specialist palliative and end life care for patients with life limiting illnesses, and their families. We will also offer therapy, day services and out patient facilities. The service will incorporate the existing Hampshire Hospitals Home Care Support Team, who currently provide care at home for patients at the end of their life, and will enable a new Hospice at Home service to provide overnight care and support for those most in need in the Winchester area.

Our mission to bring expert care, peace of mind, comfort, guidance and hope to people who are affected by life-limiting illness or by grief. Our vision is that each person in our community is valued from life through death and each family is supported in their grief. Funds raised by Kansas City Hospice Foundation support the work of Kansas City Hospice, ensuring no family is turned away because they lack resources to pay. Additionally, there are many programs which are offered free of charge or with only a nominal fee to participants. These programs include bereavement support; grief counseling; mental health counseling; grief camps; expressive therapies including art, music, and pet therapies; Solace House Center for Grief and Healing; and much more. Consistently recognized as the leading provider of end-of-life care in our community, it is only through donor support that we are able to accomplish our mission. 100% of funds raised support the many families we serve each year.
