(IE, CHY15469) Cancer Connect is a free, flexible and confidential transport service to Cork hospitals from West Cork for people receiving cancer treatments (radiotherapy, chemotherapy etc.). The service runs from Castletownbere through Bantry, and Goleen through Skibbereen to various Cork hospitals every day (Monday to Friday) at times to suit passengers. It is provided totally as a voluntary service by a team of Volunteer Drivers and is administered by West Cork Rural Transport. The Staple Hill area ranks as one of the most deprived in South Gloucestershire with high scores on multiple indices of deprivation including income, employment, health & disability, crime, and the living environment. We provide a job searchers support group, a twice weekly lunch club, access to a credit union, an older people’s friendship and exercise club, a children's christmas party and christmas hampers for those most in need. We also have space and rooms in the flat which we let out to other organisations who are themselves tackling the issues that lead to deprivation.

And also to encourage the present day youth to immolate that same sense of community spirit to assist others and to strive for progress and understanding of the needs of others.
