Helping people reclaim lives lost. We restore hope and dignity by offering opportunities for health and self-sufficiency.
Nearly half of all refugees are children and more than ever before are unaccompanied, having lost family members along the way or been forced to flee alone. On their journey to reach a place of safety, these children are often vulnerable to trafficking and subject to violence and abuse. Many are forced to sleep rough or live in desperately inadequate accommodation. It doesn't have to be like this. Many refugee children have a legal right to travel to a place of sanctuary, whether it’s to be reunited with family or to be protected from harm because of their extreme vulnerability. Safe Passage has teams in Greece, Italy and France working to reunite refugee children with their families in the UK and Europe. We help to open and strengthen safe and legal routes to protection for refugee children, then support their first steps to rebuilding their lives. We do this through a unique combination of legal work and campaigning. More than 1,700 children have travelled through routes we have helped to open since we began work in 2015.
The Emily K Center is Durham’s free college-access hub for hard-working students who want to change the trajectory of their lives—and their families’ lives—by achieving goals they never dreamed possible.
Khalsa Aid International Who We Are & What We Do Khalsa Aid is a UK based humanitarian relief charity providing support around the world to victims of natural and man-made disasters such as floods, earthquakes, famine and war. Our team is often one of the first on the scene to help distribute food, water, clothing, medical and sanitation supplies. We fund and build semi-permanent shelters, if needed anything that’s required in those early days to save lives, reduce people’s immediate suffering and help maintain their dignity. The charity was founded by Ravi Singh, who was struck by the plight of the refugees in Kosovo in 1999. That year also marked the 300th birth anniversary of the Khalsa, an opportunity for the community to reflect on the core teachings of their faith. Ravi saw the footage of the Kosovan refugees on the news and was inspired by one Sikhi ideology in particular, Sarbat da Bhalla, meaning well-being for all, recognising the humanity in us all and reaching out to those in need, regardless of race, religion, borders. At the time of the celebrations across the UK, and around the world, there were terrible images on the news of refugees struggling to cross the cold and mountainous border to reach a safer and peaceful Albania Khalsa Aid was born. Whilst the inspiration for the charity stems from a strong belief in the Sikh principles, our work is by no means restricted to the Sikh community. Khalsa Aid became the first ever cross-border international humanitarian aid organisation based on the Sikh principles. Since 1999, we have been able to provide crucial aid to millions of people around the world: from victims of the Yemen Civil War to refugees landing on the shores of Greece from the Middle East and, more recently, the Rohingya Muslims from Myanmar seeking refuge in Bangladesh, to earthquake, flood and hurricane stricken areas in Nepal, Australia, and the Caribbean.

Divine Child High School is a co-ed Catholic high school centered in Gospel values and Christian tradition. We are committed to developing in our Falcons a lifelong, Christ-like dedication to serving others. This commitment is central to Pledge: Faith in Action, our annual all-student fundraiser focused on Christian service. Each year, our students ask family, friends, and members of the Divine Child High School community to sponsor them for a day of service. On their designated service day, students have the opportunity to put their faith into action and serve at a variety of community locations such as All Saints Soup Kitchen, Children with Hair Loss, Motor City Blight Busters, Cass Community Center, Dearborn Animal Shelter, Vista Maria, and many more. In addition, your gift to Pledge: Faith in Action, provides financial support to the students’ selected charity: St. Vincent de Paul. All proceeds from Pledge: Faith in Action will be donated to St. Vincent de Paul to help further it’s mission to provide food assistance, emergency support, and disaster relief services to the less fortunate in our Southeast Michigan region. Through Pledge: Faith in Action, our students see firsthand how their time, talent, and treasure can have a positive impact on the community. To make a pledge on behalf of a specific Student, type the student's name in the search box on the top right corner. To make a general pledge to Divine Child High School, click Pledge to DC. See how our Falcons describe their experience with Pledge: Faith in Action!
