(UK, 1144118) Browse eventsThe Suffolk West Citizens Advice Bureau (SWCAB) is a local charity which offers free information and advice to all members of the local community across Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill, Brandon and Mildenhall. The aim is to provide the advice that clients need at the time they need it. The dual aim is to promote change locally and nationally through social policy work by utilising the experience of individuals across the country to lobby parliament and other organisations. Advice is provided in a holistic fashion to each individual client to ensure that any underlying issues that create barriers in their ability to resolve their problems, are addressed. Each bureaux are independent charities created by the local community, but work within the criteria laid down in the Citizens Advice membership scheme - quality of advice audit, management and organisational standards. Our strategic development is focused on reviewing our service delivery across Suffolk West, taking into account the changing needs of our clients, volunteers and core funders. This also includes seeking funding to develop services where we need to increase capacity; including plans for early intervention to curb the growth in key enquiry areas (this is often as a response to CAB social policy evidence e.g. poor financial capability leading to poor financial decisions). Over 80% of our work force are volunteers, who give their time to be receptionists, gateway assessors, advisers, administrative support, some specialist caseworkers and financial capability trainers.

(US, 263226573) Browse eventsColorado Canine Rescue (CCR) is a small group run entirely by volunteers in the Denver area. Our mission is to rescue dogs from the shelters that have been overlooked and have run out of time. We are not breed specific and will take dogs into our program depending on the availability of our foster homes. We have no central location. Our dogs stay with loving foster homes while they receive the medical and the behavioral care they need. Our goal is to find an adoptive family whose needs and lifestyle perfectly match those of our dogs’ to ensure that it is a permanent, loving home.
