The aim of OAPA is to help those who have been made homeless, those in danger of homelessness and/or are sleeping rough/sofa hopping and ex-offenders, ex-service personnel, returning to the community, in need of employment and accommodation and ultimately a fresh start. OAPA will be a sustainable non-profit organisation within the hospitality industry to provide opportunities for recruitment, training and housing for those homeless, unemployed, ex-offenders and/or ex-service personnel enabling them to reconnect in their communities.OAPA will act as a conduit and focus solely on helping people from vulnerable situations get into work whilst supporting those involved return to an independent lifestyle. The money raised by OAPA will be used to support those returning to work, provide training and supplement the resources required by OAPA partner organisations, to manage the project and promote the jobs available. It is important to stress that OAPA is not a recruitment agency and focuses solely on helping those on the project find work. Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate. The project was founded by Greg & Gill Mangham’s refusal to accept that all people who were homeless or rough sleepers were in these situations due to some form of abuse or addiction.Throughout the design of the project there was always one underpinning realisation; that none of us are ever very far away from being vulnerable. The Ethos of the project is based on a very simple concept, that no matter who or where you are, you are ONLY A PAVEMENT AWAY.Our clients will receive an initial assessment and will then be entered onto the relevant training courses, following which we will support them in their preparation for interview. Following employment the client and employer are both given 12 months post engagement support by the partnering charities and associations. We are not a recruitment agency and solely focus on helping those on the project find work.
