In concert and in contest The Co-operative Funeralcare Band has been making music for over ninety years. Over that time, it has proved to be the most successful band in the history of Scottish brass band music. The band has won the Scottish Championships 32 times and, during the 1990's, twice carried back to Scotland the National Championship of Great Britain - the only Scottish band ever to win this prestigious championship. The key aims of the band as a charity are to: (1) Promote public appreciation and understanding of brass band music and to stimulate interest in the art of brass band playing for the benefit of the public generally and especially members of the Co-operative Movement. (2) Promote the education and training of people of all ages, in the playing of brass instruments and their appreciation of brass band music.
At Hands on hand out we make it our mission to provide our homeless friends with everyday essentials, food, drinks, clean clothing, toiletries and lots more, but most importantly we aim to provide human contact and lots of laughter.
