(UK, 1151230) Community Counselling (North Yorkshire) Limited was established in 1995 with the aim of relieving the mental suffering and distress of persons in need by reason of illness or emotional distress in North Yorkshire by providing or assisting in the provision of counselling, support and therapeutic interventions. Community Counselling offers free counselling and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) treatment to vulnerable adults living in Ryedale and Scarborough Borough Districts. Additionally, we provide counselling/play therapy to children and young people across North Yorkshire and York who have been the victim of crime. Many of the people that we help are not in full-time employment, are struggling with long-term illness or disability, or are victims of crime. Many clients come from families, or are in relationships, that are abusive and/or controlling. Currently, we have six staff counsellors and a team of over 20 sessional and volunteer counsellors (supported by a team of four support staff) working at a number of different venues across North Yorkshire and York. We also offer placements to carefully selected students to support them to complete their training.
