We aim to demonstrate the unconditional love of God through meeting people's practical needs. We are made up exclusively of volunteers in the UK as we are keen to spend every possible penny on the people in need rather than covering UK overheads. Samara's Aid Appeal collects and sends physical aid from the UK to Syria and Iraq. Our teams on the ground distribute this to the people in need. Most of these are internally displaced people (IDP's) who have either lost or been forced from their homes by groups who are fighting. We also buy aid locally in the form of food, winter fuel and other essentials to meet the most basic needs of of the poorest and most vulnerable. We also have a dedicated medical team, hospitals and medical facilities in Syria which we have founded, and maintain each month. In a country were around two thirds of medical facilities have closed, an estimated 30,000 people are injured every month in the war, while 85% of the population are living in poverty, the medical services we provide are life-saving. (UK, 800449) Browse eventsThank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate. Stroud Valley Scout Group is raising funds to build a new Scouting and Community Centre. The current scouting centre is situated in the centre of Stroud. It benefits from being on a large plot of land with ample outdoor green space and wooded areas. We want to improve that environment by creating a new scouting and community centre which will benefit not only the current users but open the centre up to a wider range of users. The current centre does not have disabled access and facilities. It has inadequate heating and insulation therefore suffers from damp and cold conditions in the winter. The buildings are unattractive, and the kitchen and toilet facilities are no longer fit for purpose. By improving these facilities with a new purpose built, modern and environmentally efficient building we can not only attract other groups to use the centre but we can also make more of the outside space and attract groups for overnight camping, weekend workshops and other community events. We need your support to help raise funds for this project. Charity No: 800449 Find out more Facebook https://www.facebook.com/StroudValleyScouts/
The Friends of Southampton Youth Orchestras (FSYO) is a charitable organisation whose aim is to support the various orchestral ensembles that are part of the Southampton Youth Orchestras. The Pyramid The ensembles form a pyramid of young players starting with a broad base of those gaining their first experience of orchestral playing, from Acorn strings, through to Elgar strings, Southampton Youth Strings (SYS), Southampton Youth Concert Sinfonia (SYCS) and all the way up to Southampton Youth Orchestra (SYO) itself, one of the UK's foremost youth orchestras. Most of the FSYO committee members are parents of current players. Musical directors are also represented ex officio. The Friends support the orchestras in many ways, for example by providing new instruments and music, and by giving financial support for concerts, tours, residential weekends and specialist sectional support. What we need Our immediate needs this year are to provide funds for the 50th Anniversary Concert on 4 July 2015 and to subsidise the upcoming SYO tour to Germany. Please donate to support this exciting venture which the orchestra players will remember all their lives. Thank you so much for your kind support of the FSYO.
