We rely heavily on donations to provide practical support to the women and children who are experiencing financial hardship due to their circumstances. Many of the women and children arrive at the refuge with nothing. Donations are vital in setting up a family to keep safe and move them on to independence. Almost all of our families are on or waiting for benefits and greatly value this additional support during this time of crisis in their lives. Every year, at Flint House, a team of highly skilled physiotherapists and healthcare professionals assist over 3,500 injured police officers to get back to full operational health. Through an ever increasing range of specialist intensive treatments and care services, the focus of everyone working at Flint House is on assisting officers back to duty quickly, effectively and with long lasting results. The Centre offers a residential, holistic environment for the undertaking of intensive rehabilitation, psychological support, physiotherapy, and health & wellbeing, supported with complementary treatments including health classes, aromatherapy, Pilates, and all backed by comprehensive treatment and medical facilities. The main income of the Centre derives from a small weekly charity payroll donation by serving officers within the 29 forces covered by the Centre, plus a small number of independent donations and ex gratia grant funds. No regular income is received from government or local authorities Regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), Flint House is highly regarded by officers who have experienced the Centres environment and is consistently credited with assisting in the return of officers to full duties earlier than expected.

It is solely funded by donations and sponsorships, emerging as the leading British based Sri Lankan Charity in the UK. Take Heart Mercy Mission is a charity with two main goals: 1. To save the lives of babies and youngsters in Sri Lanka - Performing intricate and complicated operations on children who would otherwise die from various heart conditions, by funding visits for a dedicated group of surgeons, doctors and nurses from the Evelina London Children's Hospital. 2. To pass on the expertise gained in British hospitals to medical teams in Sri Lanka, so that doctors and surgeons there can carry out similar operations throughout the year and therefore save many more lives in the future. In 2012 Kent’s only Football League team Gillingham Football Club adopted Take Heart Mercy Mission as their Official Club Charity, working in partnership with the team from the Evelina Children’s Hospital to help bring hope, life, love and happiness to the children of Sri Lanka.
