We are a not-for-profit setting, relying heavily on community support and fundraising for toys, equipment, materials and books and other supplies that the children benefit from. At the moment, our main focus is the garden where the children love to spend as much time as possible. We are fundraising as hard as we can for new play equipment and decoration, stimulating outdoor activities and specialist sensory toys for children that may have special requirements. We have a vegetable patch that is not easily accessible and we would like to be able to change this so the children can get to and from the lovely things that they grow. The garden is bland and lacks imagination, so we would love to jazz it up and make it a place the children now and in the future, can really enjoy! Thank you for your interest and support!

FoTGA was formed by a group of people who had visited The Gambia in 1990. It became a UK Registered Charity in 1995 and in 2000 obtained NGO (Non Governmental Organisation) status in The Gambia. We, on the Committee are all unpaid volunteers and meet quarterly to manage the charity from the UK. Day to day business in The Gambia is taken care of by our permanent office team and by UK committee members during their own holidays. The constitutional aims of the charity are the delivery of humainitarian assistance to the people of The Gambia by: Relieving poverty Alleviating pain and suffering Advancing education.
