West Norwood Muslim Community Project (WNMCP) began in 2011 to builda base for the Muslim community in West Norwood by starting the first regularJum’uah in the area, Alhamdulillah. We held our first Tarawih in 2012 and, By The Grace of Allah, in 2013 opened the very first Islamic Centre in West Norwood, where five daily prayers were established. Our community has grown from the first Jumu’ah of 15 people to a weekly congregation of nearly 150. We recently began the purchase of the building where our Islamic Centre is based and we urgently need to raise £300,000 to complete the purchase within 6 months In’Sha’Allah. All funds raised will be given to The Croydon Islamic Academy, who are heading the purchase. The Prophet (saw) said ‘Whoever builds a Masjid for the sake of Allah, Allah willbuild for him a house in Paradise’ and also ‘Charity does not decrease your wealth’.
