Christ Church Picture Gallery, Oxford (UK, 1143423) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Christ Church was established by Henry VIII in 1546. It is a unique joint foundation of a college in the University of Oxford and the cathedral of the diocese. Christ Church also has a designated art gallery, housing one of the most important private collections of Old Master paintings and drawings in Britain. It was open to the public since 1767 which makes it one of the first art collections in the country that offered free access to all interested art lovers. Our aim has been to preserve and display the collection for future generations. Among the works are nine fragments of a large panel depicting the lives of the hermits in the desert. These paintings are now in need of extensive conservation treatment. In order to be able to carry this out we have launched a fundraising campaign to SAVE THE HERMITS. For more information please follow the link to our website or find us on Facebook.

YTD Raised: £0.00

Morning Star Children's Charity is a UK Registered Charity which was started in 1990 by Harold and Barbara Blake following their service in Nepal with the Baptist Missionary Society. The charity started a programme for the welfare of destitute, homeless and helpless children in Nepal and runs a children's home in Kathmandu, Nepal called Morning Star Children's Home. Today the home provides a loving, caring and Christian family home for 52 children which were ether abandoned by their parents, or orphaned through sickness or the long running Mouist war in Nepal. The children living in the home are provided with food, shelter, clothes, medical care and education.  The house parents are Bishnu and Muna Parajul, run the home and give the necessary love and care to help the children overcome their physical and mental traunas of their previous lives. "From the very beginning our mission has been for the children to grow up knowing the love of God and Jesus Christ and for the children to be truly joined together in Christian love." We invite you to be a part in our vision. Morning Star Children's Chairy needs your prayer and financial support. Come and be blessed by sharing your love with these destitute children. To support one child for one month costs as little as £20. It is a small price to pay for a child’s future, their needs are great. Please help us now with what you can afford.

Deep Roots - St Peter's (UK, 1128016) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Donations through Virgin Money Giving are designated to support the Deep Roots youth discipleship programme. This is a Christian interdenominational organisation working in Uganda to develop young people’s relationships with Christ, encouraging discipleship and equipping the youth to understand and live out their faith. In much the same way as plants need deep roots to survive and flourish, young Christians need to develop deep roots if they are to be fruitful. Many young people hear the word of God in Uganda and respond; far more than in the West. However, opportunities to strengthen their faith and relationship with Christ are often lacking, especially in rural areas. As a result, many of the youth face the cares of their world (the legacy of armed conflict, poverty, disease and the conflicting pulls of both western and traditional cultures) with ungrounded faith, largely unsupported and unprepared. Through working with the youth, Deep Roots aims to change a nation through the transformation of individuals and communities who will practically demonstrate an alternative to the lifestyles and life choices that have lead to scourges such as HIV and AIDS, corruption, robbery, poverty and domestic violence that are sadly all too common in local society.

Elsfield Parochial Church Council (UK, XN375280) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

Elsfield PCC is responsible for co-operating with the incumbent, the Revd Anthony Price, in promoting the pastoral, evangelical, social and ecumenical mission of the Church throughout the parish. It is also responsible for the maintenance of the Church building in Elsfield. The parish church of St Thomas of Canterbury has stood in this small rural village, North-East of Oxford, since at least 1122. In 1849 and 1859, when the Revd Richard Gordon was vicar, the building was restored in the English Gothic style and new seating was installed under the supervision of G. E. Street. The Salviati mosaics - It is thought that the mosaics were installed behind the altar in the 1860s or 1870s. The central panel on the east wall depicts the Last Supper after Leonardo da Vinci’s painting of the same subject in Milan. The mosaics are by Antonio Salviati (1816-1890), the founder of a glass making and mosaic company based at Murano near Venice, who installed mosaics in a large number of churches and cathedrals in Great Britain including the Wolsey Chapel at Windsor Castle, the Albert Memorial, St Pauls Cathedral and Westminster Abbey. Fundraising - The Elsfield PCC is raising £50,000 to restore these outstanding mosaics, described by scholars as a "National treasure".

90+is a Sports Ministry that exists to see people transformed through knowing Jesus Christ. We support the Local church across the Uk to use sport as a tool to share the Gospel. Through discipleship, events and outreach opportunities we are helping the church use what is an international language in sport for Gospel purposes. For some sport is an identity a culture and a lifestyle. However the church can use this as a tool to reach out to the sports community to share the good news of Jesus Christ. Sport can also be a great tool to 'do life' with one another and so 90+ helps to encourage the use of sport as a missional lifestyle. 90+ also runs a discipleship programme for christian athletes. The 2 month academy programme trains, equips and teaches these athletes about using their platform as pro's for Gods glory. Following the 2months, 90+ aims to send out these sports men into clubs and teams as chaplains. More information on the work of 90+ can be found at www.ninetyplusministries.com Giving page for James Jaggard at 90+ ministries

Welcome to our homepage. We are a happy and faithful congregation, meeting regularly in our lovely church, raised in 1819 on the same site where a church was first established in the 12th Century. The name Kintore is thought to come from the Gaelic, Ceann-an-torr, where "Ceann" means the head, and "Torr" a round hill, which many locals believe it to refer to Tuach Hill, the place of a battle in the 9th century in which the locals helped King Kenneth II to victory over invading Danes.

Christians Aware is an educational, ecumenical and international charity and a member body of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland and Churches Together in England, Scotland and Wales. The charity has a network of people in Britain and around the world. The main links include Africa, India, Mauritius, the Middle East, Sri Lanka, Japan, the Philippines, the Caribbean, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. The international visits are mainly to our link communities, following invitations from them. Our visits and exchanges are pilgrimages which challenge those who take part to be open and flexible, to be happy to listen and learn. They offer new experiences, new friendships, new insights and new vocations. We always keep the words of Ronald Wynne in mind. He said, ‘Do not try to teach anyone anything until you have first learnt something from them.’ Other opportunities include pilgrimages, listening days, conferences and courses, the magazine, the books. The hope of all our work is that, through encounter, listening, learning and reflection, understanding and trust may grow between people, including Christians and those of other faiths, who may then work together to overcome injustice.

International We are a Christian congregation made up of people from different countries and backgrounds. We are also connected to other congregations throughout the UK and Europe. But, though we may be made up of many nationalities, we are all committed to building a community in Ealing, London, and beyond. Presbyterian To be Presbyterian means to be linked with other churches so that we are kept accountable. Church The Bible describes the church in all sorts of ways, but the simplest way of describing a church is a group of people who are in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Though the media often refer to the church as an organisation, and when giving directions someone may point out a 'church' as a landmark, the essence of a church is people. Church members are committed to help each other grow as Christians and communicate to those who don’t know God.
