(UK, 1098893) Blue Ventures is a science-led social enterprise that works with coastal communities to develop transformative approaches for nurturing and sustaining locally led marine conservation initiatives. We work in places where the ocean is vital to local people, cultures and economies, and where there is a fundamental need to support human development. Once we have developed a model that works, we enable communities to share their experiences and encourage adoption by others. The results of our work help us to propose new ways of safeguarding marine biodiversity and coastal livelihoods that benefit coastal people everywhere. Our work has won international acclaim for its innovative and integrated approach to conservation and development. Through our expeditions, volunteers from around the world join our teams in the field, working closely with local communities and conservation scientists on marine research.
