Columbia Grange School opened in 2003, for children with severe learning difficulties and/or autism between the ages of two to eleven years. The Charity is currently raising funds to develop an unused field into an outdoor multi play area, which will also be used out of school hours.
CatZero is a registered charity designed to develop and deliver specialist programmes to meet the needs of children, young people, their families and the local community. CatZero specialise in developing bespoke programmes to meet specific needs, this is undertaken by working with and in partnership with funding bodies, delivery partners including statutory services, local businesses and the young people themselves as well as the local community.We have now started an new exciting project working alongside Job Centre Plus for 18 to 25 year olds, with an aim of combating long term unemployment. In the past CatZero has developed successful programmes for school groups, of ages ranging from 11 to 18, and will be continuing to work with schools for the foreseeable future, offering our tailor-made motivational development programmes. In 2011 CatZero completed a 3 year NEET programme with excellent results, exceeding all our targets.Over three years we worked with over 400 young people and of these, over 70% have moved on to either education, employment or training.CatZero worked, and will continue to work, with the most hard to reach young people within Hull and the Yorkshire and Humber area that are categorised as NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training) through the delivery of innovative youth development training, allowing them to make progress towards the world of work through challenging educational and personal development programmes. The experience is motivational and designed to bring about attitudinal change to employment. We provide a vehicle for performing arts in Kendal and surrounding area, specifically an all age theatre company producing work, for and by, the community without limitation.
