Newington Green Action Group has initiated the Mary on the Green fundraising to recognize her achievements by erecting a sculptural memorial to Mary Wollstonecraft on Newington Green where she ran a school for girls.

These children are in urgent need of assistance and cannot be cared for adequately at home. We support these children by giving grants to enable them to attend state and independent boarding schools. Schools that provide them with the stability and care they so vitally need at a difficult time in their lives.  Whilst at school the chidren can maintain vital contact with their families.  Our work can only expand through the generosity of others.

Smiles to Tanzania was formed after a visit where we had seen how the Lake Victoria Children's Society (LVC) was struggling to educate and feed children on Ukerewe Island in the middle of Lake Victoria, Tanzania. We also aim to support the albino population living on the island who suffer daily discrimination and hardship on the mainland. We are a small charity that provides for children with Special Educational Needs aged from birth to 5 years and their families. We are an independent group that meets twice weekly at Hardmoor Early Years Centre (and every other weekend) as well as once a week at Thornhill Surestart Centre and Footsteps (at Mason Moor Primary school). We provide structured play inside and out, as well as support, education and advice for the families. Parents/Carers may stay with their children or leave the child with our staff for a well earned short break. We have a number of paid professional staff but also rely on wonderful volunteers.

The City of Plymouth Children Fund was set up in 1961 with the aim to work with less advantaged children, particularly those who have suffered hardship or differculties and offer them a free of charge holiday. In addition we provide halloween and Christmas parties as well as day trips when funds permit. The Holiday allows the children a chance to have a week away packed with fun, new experiences and a chance to form friendships. For some it is the first chance to gain some independence and for others the oppotunity to have a week of being just a child without the responsablities they may have at home. The charity is run purely by volunteers so your donation will 100% go to the children. Bexley SNAP exist to help ensure that disabled children in Bexley are supported to have the best opportunities and experiences they can to enable them to have full and fulfilling lives. We offer a range of leisure services to support this; holiday play-schemes, weekend activities, youth clubs, and ‘buddy’ experiences. We support families by offering information, advice, support, counselling, courses, coffee mornings, training, and a resource library. For pre-school disabled children we offer the Little Stars project, a parent/child teaching and play programme based on the principles of conductive education. The aim of this project is to encourage the development of young children and babies with complex needs and physical delay. Our Early Years keyworker offers support to families with pre school complex needs children, helping co-ordinate the many appointments with professionals necessary, signposting for other sources of help and advice while liaising with the other professionals that are working with the family to encourage a less stressful and more seamless service. We are working with the local authority to test new government plans for the assessing and providing for the health, care and education needs of disabled children in Bexley. Our Pathfinder worker is responsible for helping families with this new process and reporting any successes or difficulties. The CEO of SNAP sits on strategic boards and planning groups, ensuring that the needs of disabled children and families are considered in future plans for services across the borough. In addition, we organise social trips and fundraising events designed to raise money while having fun!

At Panos London we believe that whether the problem is HIV and AIDS, climate change, civil conflict or poverty, poor people in developing countries have a right to know about, debate and have a say in decisions that affect their lives. Panos London is part of the worldwide Panos Network of independent institutes working to promote the active participation of poor and marginalised people in finding solutions to the problems they face, through media and communication projects. Our work helps to ensure that people in developing countries are included in decision-making processes and have access to the information they need to improve their lives.
