(UK, 1119570) Can you Imagine a life without friends or family? Here at Building Circles in Gloucestershire, we know that there are lots of adults with Learning Disabilities living in the community who have few or no friends or family to visit them. Problems with health, mobility or communication can make people feel even more isolated and unable to go out and live the fulfilling life that we all deserve to live. Building Circles in Gloucestershire recruit, train and support volunteers to create friendships with isolated adults with a learning disability. Our volunteers are very special people who are friendly, patient and willing to listen. With a Building Circles volunteer, people are able to go and do the things that most of us take for granted such as going to a cafe for lunch, watching a new film at the cinema, taking a walk in the country, or visting new places. We also hold regular social events and get everybody together for fun, laughter, and entertainment, our popular events such as our Xmas Party attracts over 120 people. We also hold specialist events for our focus people with severe needs (a group which so often get overlooked in life), and our younger focus people (aged 18-25). In addition we also offer training to people with learning disabilities, employ an admin assistant with a learning disability and are about to launch a new transitions project giving young people access to work experience and life skills. Our organisation is completely not for profit and we survive on grants from other organisations and donations from kind people like you to survive! We believe everybody should be able to live as a valued member of the community and experience friendship, please help us to reach out to as many people as we can. YTD Raised: £0.00Newbury Riding for the Disabled is based at Hampstead Norreys and is dedicated to improving the lives of local children with disabilities through riding. The physical therapy provided by riding helps children to grow in confidence and independence while benefiting their health and general well being. Riding offers an opportunity for enjoyment, challenge, laughter, achievement, independence and confidence. Newbury RDA is entirely self funding and relies upon Volunteer Helpers to run the riding sessions, maintain the property and raise the £50,000 per annum needed to cover our running costs. (UK, 19) Founded in 1966 by a group of parents with disabled children The Gibraltar Disability Society set three objectives: A state education, adult residential care and social security allowance. However today our three objectives have evolved into inclusive education, supported living within the community and the introduction of legislation to protect the rights of disabled persons in Gibraltar. The Society promotes the interest of disabled persons and their entitlement to education, family, leisure and recreation, housing and employment. The Gibraltar Disability Society is not exclusive to one form of disability. We offer help to all whether their disability be physical, learning or both. Our main aim has always been to raise funds to help disabled people with equipment and other necessities that are not covered by other financial sources. Our Committee are all volunteers and receive no financial reward for their work.

We are a specialist voluntary organisation, here for Carers to make sure that they get the breaks they need so that they can continue to care for their loved ones at home. The role of the family carer is a relentless one of giving that can often lead to feelings of isolation. We allow carers to take some time and space for themselves by providing a familiar trained carer to step into their shoes. This allows them to take a break and return refreshed to their caring role. Crossroads Care Central and East Gloucestershire is an independent incorporated charity whose geographic area of service provision is the boroughs of Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Stroud, Gloucester and the Cotswolds. Crossroads Care Central and East Gloucestershire is a member scheme of the Carers Trust and as such works within a national framework of policies and procedures and internal quality assurance programme.
