Our work helps some of the thousands of young people driven onto the streets by the combined effect of the 1994 genocide, rural poverty, and conflicts within families. We founded a centre in 2008 that provides a desperately needed home for young people who have been orphaned, neglected or left in difficult situations. The centre provides shelter, education and guidance with the ultimate aim to help them live a self sufficient life away from the street.

There are currently 7 children living at the Ujamaa Children's Home, Sabina, Irene, Kelvin, twins Ally and Halima, Ema and Annie. The Ujamaa Children's Home provides the children in its care with a place to call home and a family to share their lives with as well as an all important education.
