Sam Beare Hospice Weybridge, opened in 2006 to provide palliative care and support to patients and their families living with a life-limiting illness in the Boroughs of Elmbridge, Spelthorne and Runnymede Sam Beare Hospice aims to improve the lives of people whose illness may not be curable. We help people to live as actively as possible after diagnosis to the end of their lives, however long that may be. The highest value is put on respect and choice and support is also given to families and close friends, both during the illness and in bereavement. All care is provided for free and as a registered charity the Hospice relies on the support of the community to help fund their work.

The Chilli Children Trust supports a project for children with disabilities in Rukungiri, Uganda. This Project was set up in 1995 by the North Kigezi Diocese of the Church of Uganda as a Christian response to the problems faced by orphaned and disabled children and their families. Regular surveys are carried out in remote areas to identify disabled children and provide them with access to: A chilli growing scheme which provides much needed income for families; Monthly clinics for children who need physio or occupational therapy, providing support for parents and carers, and teaching them to help their child develop sitting, feeding and walking skills; Surgical help for children with cleft palates, burn injuries, orthopaedic conditions and neurological conditions; Clinics for children with club foot, epilepsy, and visual problems; Support with education for deaf and disabled children, and sign language training for families.
