It is a voluntary managed organisation, governed by a constitution, and has been registered with the Charity Commission since 1992. MHYG started life as a small village youth group, meeting one evening a week in the village hall. As the group began to develop and grow, the young people were encouraged to participate in prioritising their needs, which resulted in the establishment of the skatepark project in 1989. The skatepark is considered a landmark venue hosting local / national competitions and opportunities to young people.

The center in Tehran takes some of the most vulnerable, abused and neglected girls and works with them to give them the tools they need to lead happy and productive lives. The Omid-e-Mehr center takes the best teachers and psychologists in Tehran to provide therapy and education for over 180 girls at any one time. Our unique holistic approach helps the young girls achieve self-awareness, self-determination and self-sufficiency. We value and nurture the voices, hearts, and minds of these underprivileged and vulnerable young women and help them transform their lives.

Sheltered waters and volunteer staff on safety boats mean that the scouts are able to experiment and learn about boats in a safe environment. In addition to sailing and kayaking, the scouts have a number of weekly activities and occasional camping trips, all following the underlying principles of the Scouting Association.

The Charity was set up as a memory to Emma whose life was tragically cut short just before her 30th birthday. Em always wanted to support people to fulfil their potential and this Trust will continue what she believed in so passionately. We choose to support charities that develop the confidence and capabilities of young people aged between 16-25. So far with your generous donations we have supported:--the 'First Steps' Programme run by the Step by Step charity based in Aldershot-the 'Turning the Tables' initiative run by Streets of Growth in Tower HamletsNew donations will go to our current project.
