The center in Tehran takes some of the most vulnerable, abused and neglected girls and works with them to give them the tools they need to lead happy and productive lives. The Omid-e-Mehr center takes the best teachers and psychologists in Tehran to provide therapy and education for over 180 girls at any one time. Our unique holistic approach helps the young girls achieve self-awareness, self-determination and self-sufficiency. We value and nurture the voices, hearts, and minds of these underprivileged and vulnerable young women and help them transform their lives.

Sheltered waters and volunteer staff on safety boats mean that the scouts are able to experiment and learn about boats in a safe environment. In addition to sailing and kayaking, the scouts have a number of weekly activities and occasional camping trips, all following the underlying principles of the Scouting Association.

The Charity was set up as a memory to Emma whose life was tragically cut short just before her 30th birthday. Em always wanted to support people to fulfil their potential and this Trust will continue what she believed in so passionately. We choose to support charities that develop the confidence and capabilities of young people aged between 16-25. So far with your generous donations we have supported:--the 'First Steps' Programme run by the Step by Step charity based in Aldershot-the 'Turning the Tables' initiative run by Streets of Growth in Tower HamletsNew donations will go to our current project. We are looking at charities that work with some of the brightest and most able young people in the UK, regardless of background, providing education and employability experiences which raise both aspirations and attainment. YTD Raised: £0.00The Scotswood Area Strategy was set up by local residents about twelve years ago as part of a campaign to improve the quality of life for everyone living in Scotswood. It is now a registered charity and company limited by guarantee employing sixteen staff. As well as the paid staff, the organisation involves about forty volunteers in its activities. The Strategy is led by its members, who are local residents. Responsibility for managing and overseeing the work lies with eleven trustees elected from the membership. The most visible part of the Strategy’s work is the community support centre in the former Coop building in Armstrong Road, known locally as the Pink Palace. In addition, it delivers a range of projects and services across the west end, including A family project Community Cafe, Diner A parent and child support service Community Development and Research Project Youth Groups The biggest sets of projects are those directed towards young people, and especially those young people who are struggling. These include a pilot project around drugs and sexual health Just Bme A youth project for black and minority ethnic young people Schools Programme Over 2,000 young people participate in the youth programmes run by the Strategy. The strategy has a monthly community newspaper called Scotswood Now which all local news and events are published. To advance the preservation, protection, improvement and enhancement in any way for the benefit of the public, the amenities in the West End of Newcastle, and the relief of poverty, the advancement of education, the care and protection of children, the maintenance of health, the promotion of social harmony, the provision of leisure activities and any other charitable purpose or purposes for the benefit of the people living in the area of benefit.
