(UK, 303370) 5th Dartford Scouts is fund-raising for a new hall. The current hall was built by the Scout leaders and parents in 1960, seeing fifty years of service the hall is showing signs of wear and tear with a number cracks in the structure. The hall is home of our 200 members consisting of nine sections 3*Beavers Colonies, 3*Cub Packs, 2*Scout Troops as well as the Explorers. We are used to fund-raising having recently built a target shooting/archery range and the climbing wall, however know we need to step up to the challenge of the new hall.

Our group consists of Beavers (6-8 year olds), Cubs (8-10 year olds), Scouts (10-14 year olds) and our new Explorer unit (14-18 year olds). We are a very active group holding weekly meetings and regular outdoor activities including numerous camps, both summer and winter. We have 13 uniformed leaders and over 80 young people. We are very involved within the life of our village community. Our current priority is to raise funds to replace our outgrown and old group HQ. All donations are gratefully received, thank-you.

YTD Raised: £0.00We are a charity providing educational outdoor adventure activities for disadvantaged and disabled young people of all abilities. Our main focus is children with special needs including young people with autism, Asperges Syndrome, Downs Syndrome, the hearing and vision impaired and a range of physically disabled young people including wheelchair users. Many of our young people suffer from one or more of the above. We also run courses for disadvantaged primary and secondary school children from mainstream schools in poor inner city areas. Our aim is to ensure that all young people, regardless of ability, special need or disadvantage, are given the opportunity to experience quality outdoor education, in a safe environment, to improve not only their physical fitness but their confidence and self esteem to enable them to meet the challenges of everyday life, today and in the future. We have recently completed an all weather wheelchair friendly sports area and upgraded the entrance paths to our sensory garden to make wheelchair access easier. Our next challenge is to raise the funds to build a state of the art indoor climbing wall with unique and specific provision for non ambulent youngsters, which will demonstrate to other organisations and individuals what we at Dukes Barn already know, that being physically disabled does not mean being excluded from exciting and healthily competitive sporting pastimes.
