Young people, the future of Blackburn with Darwen, are at the heart of the Zone – everything from the actual building to the projects, programmes and activities on offer, right through to the Zone’s staff, have been chosen in partnership with our young people – importantly listening to their opinions and giving them a voice in issues that affect them. South London Cares is a community network based in Southwark and Lambeth. We recruit young professionals to offer a little extra time, practical support and human companionship to their older neighbours.  Our mission is to build relationships between people who may not normally interact. We aim to tackle isolation, bridge social divides and bring our communities closer together. Our Love Your Neighbour programme matches volunteers who have a little spare time, to older neighbours who would enjoy a little companionship. Meanwhile, our Social Clubs - such as film nights, baking classes, cooking sessions, concert trips, brunch club and games evenings - provide a chance for people to share skills, new experiences and cultural exchange. How you can helpA donation of any amount will make a real difference. As we look to reach more older neighbours and bring communities closer together, your support would be greatly appreciated.
