Annually Motiv8 works with over 2000 young people from Portsmouth, Havant and Gosport. Much of this is targeted and results in a positive outcome for over 90% of the young people Motiv8 supports. We support young people to deliver three main outcomes; Reducing offending and re-offending A reduction in the number of first time entrants and total number of offenders in the youth criminal justice system. School Attendance Improved attendance at secondary school, contributing to improved and accredited attainment both in school and beyond Employment Progression Young people over the age of 16 progressing in Education or moving into Training and Employment Some young people may simply gain the confidence to return to education, whilst others are diverted from a life of crime.

Since opening in 2012, the Zone now has 3,000 members offering them a safe and exciting environment in which to spend their spare time. Young people, the future of Blackburn with Darwen, are at the heart of the Zone – everything from the actual building to the projects, programmes and activities on offer, right through to the Zone’s staff, have been chosen in partnership with our young people – importantly listening to their opinions and giving them a voice in issues that affect them. As a registered charity, we rely upon funding from outside sources and works in partnership with the Council, local businesses and other bodies to ensure that we remain at the heart of the town and continue to meet and recognise the needs of the young people of Blackburn with Darwen. We recruit young professionals to offer a little extra time, practical support and human companionship to their older neighbours. Our mission is to build relationships between people who may not normally interact. We aim to tackle isolation, bridge social divides and bring our communities closer together. Our Love Your Neighbour programme matches volunteers who have a little spare time, to older neighbours who would enjoy a little companionship. Meanwhile, our Social Clubs - such as film nights, baking classes, cooking sessions, concert trips, brunch club and games evenings - provide a chance for people to share skills, new experiences and cultural exchange. How you can helpA donation of any amount will make a real difference. As we look to reach more older neighbours and bring communities closer together, your support would be greatly appreciated. To give you an idea of how you could help: - £20 helps fund a Social Club – such as a movies afternoon or games evening – from start to finish - £40 could help pay for a Cooking Session and meals for 10 isolated people. - £150 could provide transportation for 14 neighbours otherwise unable to attend our Social Clubs.
