Wandsworth Young Carers Project supports children and young people aged 5-18 who are affected by the illness or disability of a family member and provide care (physical and/or emotional) to that family member. The person they care for may have a physical disability, chronic illness, mental health issues, drug or alcohol dependency or HIV/Aids. Caring can be isolating and demanding for children and young people and we aim to ensure that they are supported and that they have occasional breaks from their caring role. We supply club nights during school terms and various trips and activities in the holidays to give children and Young people the repite they deserve.

The purpose of Scouting is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual ,social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities. 1st Poulner Scout Group was formed in 1970 and moved to its purpose built Headquarters in Southampton Road in 1981. From here, the Group has gradually grown over the years and now operates two Beaver Colonies, two Cub Packs, a Scout Troop and an Explorer Unit. In all, the Group has over 150 young people as members and over 40 adults who play a key part in the smooth running of the Group. 1st Poulner Scout Group is currently working on a project to build a Multi Activity Centre at its Group Headquarters at Poulner. This will not only benefit the Scout Group, but the wider community in general and in particular local schools. The Centre will include facilities forshooting, archery and also a climbing wall.
