Our volunteers work on projects here in the UK and all over the world. Welcome to 1st Heworth (York) Scout Group   1st Heworth Scout Group offers scouting to young people in the Heworth and Tang Hall areas of York.  We cater for all young people between 6 and 18 and provide them with a wide varied programme of activities to enable them to achieve badges and awards. They have a chance to participate in adventurous activities, learn lifelong skills, experience leadership and make friends.   In fact, 1st Heworth is one of a few remaining Scout Groups that teaches its young members traditional camp craft skills.  Our scouts can attend six camps each year which range from just a weekend to a full week.  Here they learn to work in a patrol and build their own mini campsite.  Whether it be full fried breakfasts or homemade fish and chips with apple crumble and custard everything is cooked over open wood fires. Here at 1st Heworth, we are always welcoming new members of all ages.
