Million Minutes enables youth action and advocacy, giving voice and support to young people (aged up to 25) to transform their lives and their world. That's because young people's energy and vibrancy is astonishing. We have faith in young people.  We want a world in which young people are recognised and supported to transform their lives and their world so that all may have a life of dignity. We do this by supporting activities inspired by Catholic socail teaching (CST), that give voice and encouragement to young people.  Million Minutes Big Silence and siLENT, combine the powerful witness of silence with speaking up for the ‘voiceless’ and overlooked.  At the same time we provide a way to raise financial sponsorship for young people. We respond to areas of need by funding projects. We're completely convinced that young people can take their place in society, so we're supporting youth leadership projects all over England and Wales, as well as projects which help young people who are overlooked and vulnerable, so they can transform their lives. We want to help young people go further still. We to celebrate the amazing contribution young people make. The Celebrating Young People Awards honour the achievements of those truly remarkable young people who make our communities and our world a better place. Nominated by anyone from friends and family to teachers and clergy, the winners are drawn from throughout England and Wales and reflect achievements in every area of social action. YTD Raised: £85.00

1st Ferring Sea Scouts have been providing the Scouting experience to the young people of Ferring in West Sussex for over 50 years. Our Group is affiliated to St Andrew’s Church, Ferring. We are proud of our place in the local community and over the years we have built up a number of annual traditions such as the Beach Clean, Bulb Planting, Flower Boat maintenance and planting, and the Village Christmas Postal system. Our young people and their families are encouraged to join in these and other activities. As with most Scout groups we are heavily dependent on fund raising to provide the equipment and facilities we need to provide challenging, adventurous and engaging activities for our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. The subscriptions we receive from the young people’s families barely cover our running costs, fundraising is key to our ability to provide more than just somewhere to meet. This being the groups 50th year we are concentrating our fundraising efforts on a hut rebuild fund. Our wooden hut is as old as the group, it will not last forever and we need to ensure we have premises capable of seeing the group through the next 50 years. Its going to be a long journey but we have to start somewhere !
