Diss and District Young Farmers Club is a charitable organisation with primary objectives of advancing the education of young members in agriculture, country life and related subjects. Often known as Diss YFC for short, the charity was formed in April 1943 by a group of volunteers hoping to provide an organisation targeted at young people in the rural sector. Diss YFC today has an active role in promoting other charitable organisations through various fundraising events throughout the year. The particular event this year is a cycle ride from Paris all the way back to our hometown of Diss, which of a distance in excess of 350 miles will certainly test the most spirited of members.

1st Topsham Sea Scout Group began in 1909 and provides all the opportunities and activities to young people that Scouting has to offer. Our members enjoy a varied programme of activities to enable them to achieve badges and awards, and are offered opportunities to attend group and district events such as themed activity days, sleepovers and camps. Being based next to the Exe Estuary enables our Scout section to make full use of the water activities we provide such as canoeing and kayaking, particularly during the summer months. We welcome both boys and girls aged 6 to 14, and adults who wish to join the movement. We also have links to the District Explorer Scout Unit that is for young people aged 14 to 18. We currently run Beaver, Cub and Scout sections. Our current priority is to raise £75 000 to regenerate our very old and dilapidated Group HQ to provide us with the premises we need to deliver the Scouting we want. Affiliated/accredited to The Scout Association.
