Charlies Charity works to raise funds for young people in clubs and organisations in Wiltshire who would benefit from our support to help them make the most of their sporting abilities and opportunities.. Charlies Charity has been set up in the memory of Charlie, who tragically died in a car accident on 26 September 2009 at the age of 18 years, 2 months and 5 days. Charlie was loved by all who knew him and in his short but full life he made a huge and lasting difference to peoples lives. Sport, especially football, played a large part in Charlies life. Whether it was watching it on TV, watching Spurs or playing for his teams, it was his passion and it is hoped that others will be able to benefit in some way from the legacy that Charlie has left behind. In all that Charlie did, he did with a smile on his face that warmed all who came into contact with him very deeply. This "just being Charlie" earned him great respect, popularity and love and quite simply, he was someone who people wanted to be with.
We are a group of parents and residents fundraising to transform the well-used but run down playground on Wanstead High Street into somewhere amazing for children to play. The playground is the only one in the area meaning it gets used heavily and some of the equipment is nearing the end of its life. Many pieces date back more than a decade and are showing signs of their age, both in their condition and design. The playground is at the heart of our community and key to the success of the High Street - many visit en route to a local eatery, shop, club or library.

Clemi's great love was the mountains and sports, preferably both together. His biggest dream was to own a mountain cabin. Mountains and sports were his passion. The charitable trust has a very specific and lasting aim, to allow other less fortunate children to experience the freedom and power that spending time in the mountains can offer. We hope that in doing so we can give these young people a reason to smile again, even if it is only for a week or two, and to ignite in some of them the strength to fulfill their own lives.
