Aryana Aid is a volunteer led charity working to improve the lives of orphan children ordinary men and women in Afghanistan. our volunteers are drawn from a diverse range of backgrounds including IT, the law, media and business. we work with the local Afghan community to deliver emergency aid and long term sustainability through our orphan sponsorship, widow skills training, and water and wheelchair project. Since launching in 2009, we've used 100% of the donations collected by our head office in London to fund the initiatives led by volunteers, at our satellite office in Afghanistan The name Aryana was chosen after we decided we should expand our help into neighbouring countries like Pakistan, who were just as poverty stricken as those in Afghanistan, and we wanted our charity to represent all of these countries as a unity. Aryana was the name used for the countries of Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan, which made up the Persian kingdom. Aryana Aid is a good united team of volunteers who put their heart and soul into helping to relieve poverty, bringing hope and happiness into the lives of those who had nothing to keep them going, by working together to build orphanages, water pumps, as well as distributing food, clothes and basic necessities. We are also now able to help out in emergency situations such as natural disasters quickly and efficiently, so that damage is kept to a minimum.
