The Mission is to relieve sickness, poverty and distress amongst the vulnerable, homeless and street homeless, population of Gloucestershire. We believe that the word “hope” can only really be understood when we have felt hopeless. Our biggest gift would be to give hope to those who feel hopeless.
Emmaus Sheffield is homeless charity with a difference. Emmaus offers people who were formerly homeless a place to live where they can feel safe and secure and where they can rediscover their dignity and self-pride through being part of a working community geared towards becoming self-sufficient through social enterprise.
We are a voluntary organisation offering friendship, emotional and practical help to help parents and keep families together. Support is given by Home-Start trained volunteers and is available to any family, meeting our referral criteria, who have at least one child under 5 years of age.

So that every child can have a good start in life, Home-Start Banbury & Chipping Norton offers support, friendship and practical help to parents with young children. Home-Start’s Aims To try and ensure that every family gets the help they need to give their children the best possible start in life, Home-Start supports parents as they grow in confidence, strengthen their relationships with their children and widen their links with the local community. Home-Start’s Service Home-Start provides a unique service for families – recruiting and training volunteers to support parents with young children at home. Volunteers visit every week offering friendship, emotional support and practical help. Home-Start Families Parents may face a range of difficulties including loneliness and isolation, post-natal illness, domestic violence, poverty, inadequate housing, disability, multiple births and family breakdown. Home-Start’s Referrals Families are referred to Home-Start by Health Visitors and other professionals. Families can refer themselves and ask for help directly. Home-Start Volunteers Home-Start volunteers are committed and caring people who are all parents themselves or have experience of bringing up children. They are friendly and approachable, and other parents can trust and rely on them to listen without judging, helping them to build up confidence in their own abilities as parents. Home-Start Training Volunteers are recruited, trained and supported by staff in a local community-based scheme, working from an office in Banbury. Volunteers are trained according to a nationally agreed framework, including input from other agencies working with families.
With your help we can provide homeless people with supported accommodation and a range of activities to encourage emotional wellbeing, confidence and participation, and help those furthest from the labour market into work, volunteering and training – breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty.
The main focus of the charity is helping vulnerable people living in the UK. It believes in the concept that 'charity begins at home'. Priority is given to engaging in and supporting projects which are making a positive difference to people's lives within this community.

At the Storehouse Project we take donations of furniture and deliver these for free to those in vulnerable or desperate situations in Cardiff. We work with several different charities and organisations in the city, who refer people to us. We have helped 100s of families and individuals in Cardiff from a range of different backgrounds; predominantly refugees and asylum seekers, victims of domestic abuse, the vulnerably housed and adults with learning disabilities.Our values are: Restoring Hope, Restoring Dignity and Restoring Lives.
