Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate. The Tram Stop Shelter Charity aims to re build the once derelict shelter on Thorpe Esplanade, Southend on Sea, SS1 3BA to provide public community facilities, comprising toilets and changing rooms for disabled people and a shelter for the benefit of the residents and visitors to Southend on Sea. Please donate to support our cause. In 2010 members of the Burgess Estates Residents Association were first to support the project of renovating the derelict shelter. However, surveys proved this not to be a viable option. The Tram Stop Shelter Charity was approved by the Charities Commission in 2014 and our objective is now to re build the Tram Stop Shelter for the benefit of the public, being of architectural, constructional or historical merit. We still need to raise over £200,000 for the rebuild. (UK, 1138741) Browse eventsPathway supports homeless people with serious illnesses Homelessness in England is rising, but we're rising to the challenge. Every year we support over 3000 patients through our 11 NHS teams, helping them get back on their feet, find accommodation, and deal with the problems that led to their homelessness. Taking care of your health is hard when you don't know where you'll sleep that night, or the next time you'll eat, which means homeless people end up in A&E six times more than people with a home. It's difficult for doctors too - a person who needs bed rest, nutritious food, regular medicine and someone to take care of them can't get that on the street. That's where Pathway comes in. Our teams of doctors, nurses, housing officers, legal advisors and social workers work together to help homeless people find accommodation. In some areas we have created specialist ‘respite’ service, where patients can go for a bit longer to recover and recuperate.Supporting doctorsWe train professionals to spot homeless patients and help them. We also carry out research into all aspects of health, homelessness and exclusion, to help improve medical practice and make services better for patients. We host The Faculty for Homeless and Inclusion Health, a network of over 750 people who are passionate about taking care of homeless and vulnerable patients.Creating a Life After HomelessnessOnly people who have been homeless can tell us how it feels. That's why Pathway includes formerly homeless people - Experts by Experience - in every aspect of our work. We also run the UK's only homeless Care Navigator Programme, training people who were once homeless to work in hospitals supporting others. It's a life changing project, but one that can only continue with support from kind donors. Please support us, give a little to change a lot.

(UK, Sussex Housing & Care - N/A) Browse eventsSussex Housing & Care (SHC) is a charitable Housing Association providing quality, affordable housing and care services for older people in Sussex. SHC was formed in 1946 by a group of local residents working in senior positions in health and housing - Major E F Holland, Mr Ronald Simson and Dr Ashleigh Glegg. The supporters and employees of SHC still work towards the association's initial aim - to ensure 'in old age there should be security, and no-one in their latter years should find themselves stranded, with nowhere to go , and no-one to befriend them.' From these beginnings, SHC has extended and now offers a range of homes and care for over 800 residents in a variety of locations in Sussex. This has been achieved through the combined efforts of generous benefactors and its committed staff and volunteers over the years. This charitable status means that SHC relies on voluntary donations and grants to provide extra welfare services to its residents that they would otherwise not receive. In addition, shortfalls in funding from local authorities for residential and nursing care are also met by SHC through its welfare fund. Your donation will help us continue this work, and help ensure we can provide the care and support services that older people in Sussex deserve.
