We are a Sheffield based charity committed to providing a safe and warm day shelter, which is open to all vulnerable men and women between Christmas Eve and New Years Day each year. We provide a cooked breakfast, a large lunch and a suppertime meal along with hot and cold drinks and snacks. Guests are welcome to spend the whole day with us. During the project we are visited by a hairdresser, health workers and a variety of entertainers. We also run a clothing store throughout the project. We are staffed entirely by volunteers, working on a shift system. Our thanks go to everyone who gives up their time during this busy period of the year. All of this is funded entirely by generous donations and various fundraising events.
Upendo Children's Home aims to provide a loving, stable and sustainable home to orphaned children in north-west Tanzania. We provide a hand-up and not a hand-out through the development of locally rooted development projects (such as agriculture and solar-power) which will contribute to Upendo from within our local community of Buswelu, Mwanza.

The first democratic elections in South Africa ended apartheid, but apartheid left a legacy of poverty and deprivation for the majority population who had little or no access to proper health, education, housing and utilities. Reconstruction and development to eradicate the causes of inequality, discrimination and poverty started in 1994 but due to the enormity of the task support for this will be required for the foreseeable future. We work with local people and organisations focussing on: providing greater access to educational resources HIV/AIDS projects which raise awareness and support those affected by the pandemic supporting those affected by violence against women and challenging gender violence access to health care community arts projects helping build local peoples’ self confidence and sense of achievement housing projects addressing the need for formal housing
Caritas Anchor House is a nationally acclaimed residential life skills centre for single homeless people. Based in East London, we provide accommodation and support for over 200 homeless people each year, addressing their problems through education, training, rehabilitation and volunteering.
1 in 6 people do not have decent or safe housing to live in. Article 25 provides the expertise to make buildings safe, suitable and sustainable. By working with local communities we ensure each building is a community owned and maintained project, sharing skills and creating livelihoods.
SLA supports destitute children in Andhra Pradesh S.E. India. We feed,clothe,house, educate and provide medical care for over 500 children who are either orphans or whose relatives cannot support them. We do this by funding a Home and School in Tuni.
St Paul’s Hostel charity operates three projects within Worcester aimed at targeting homelessness and its causes. The mission is not to intervene in individuals’ private lives, but to provide the support and care necessary for clients to gain the level of independence for which they can take responsibility.
The Harrogate Homeless Project is the only direct access hostel in Harrogate and the District, providing emergency accommodation and support for those who are homeless. Only 65% of our running costs are met through statutory funding and other grants, so we constantly need to raise money in order to continue.
