YTD Raised: £260.00Margaret and Geoff Trimby,the founders of the charity, visited Kenya on holiday and were shocked by the poverty and lack of work so bringing insurmountable problems to the lovely people. The fund raises money to build and support a school in Kikambala, Mombasa, Kenya. This is a very poor area of Mombasa where parents struggle to find work and so cannot afford to feed the children let alone send them to state education. The school is for the poorest children and orphans being brought up in the extended family. It is providing free uniforms, stationery and ,hopefully in the near future, a meal a day. The first two classrooms are finished and the well, toilet block and septic tanks are built . We opened the first class of the school January 2012. There are plans for three more classrooms and an admin/ dining block. We need funds to start the building of the 3 new classrooms so the children can move on at the end of this year to the third class. We need on going funds to pay the teachers wages , buy the food and maintain the buildings . We are starting the second class in January 2013 so 55 new children will be in education. Please help -- -these wonderful families do deserve much better than they have.

In Leeds many churches have seen that need and have come together to serve our city. Leeds Foodbank supports people by providing emergency food, and signposting them to other support such as debt advice services and job clubs, to help them through their food crisis. We do this through a network of food distribution centres based in local churches and community centres throughout Leeds. Each distribution centre is linked to one of our four Trussell Trust Licensed foodbanks: Leeds North; Leeds South; Leeds West and Leeds East.

YTD Raised: £190.00Food, Health, Education, Income Generation, Clean water and Improved Sanitation for Orphaned and Vulnerable Children and their guardians in Tabora, Tanzania TLC Aims: To provide a daily nutritious meal for hungry, vulnerable and orphaned children (OVCs) in Tabora, Tanzania until they or their families have built their own capacity to provide this for themselves (mainly through our projects, providing access to education and jobs). To facilitate access to education for OVCs through buying school uniforms and school supplies and ensuring children are able to and do attend government schools. TLC also links with the Tanzanian Children's Educational Trust to provide access to private schooling through sponsorship. To guard the OVCs and their families against disease and illness with mosquito nets, clean water, improved sanitation and health education. To test children for AIDS, malaria and other diseases and to provide treatment when necessary. To empower the guardians to care for OVCs by developing income generating activities with family members and helping families which have no able breadwinner. To particularly empower girls and women through education and skills training, income generating schemes and improved health care and nutrition to enhance their positive opportunities. * The first 3 photos in our Gallery are of Siobhan, a TLC trustee, with some of the children. Siobhan is one of our Belfast City Marathon runners.
