It provides basic essentials – from food and clean water to toilets and textbooks – to 24 extremely poor jungle schools in the south of the island. As funds allow, it also builds extra classrooms, installs playground equipment, runs tea and cinnamon-growing cooperatives, and oversees vocational schools. In 2014 Extra Cover have opened 2 special education units to cater for children with all types of disabilities. They will be working closely with local government to provide education for those who have not had the opportunity in the past.

Our seasonal, plant based program covers everything from basic cookery skills to sugar free baking, preserving, composting, foraging and making your own cosmetics. We are only able to keep doing what we do thanks to kind folk like you giving us some of your hard earned cash. £5 keeps our ovens, hobs and blenders whirring for a lesson. £10 pays the expenses of an awesome volunteer to assist in a class.  £25 pays for delicious local, organic ingredients for one coookery class.  £50 pays for delicious local, organic ingredients for two cookery classes. £100 pays for a teacher to plan and deliver a life changing cookery class.

The Choir with No Name runs choirs for people who have experienced homelessness, and others on the margins.  Our mission is to enable marginalised people to make friends, build their confidence and skills and find their place in society. Each choir rehearses once a week, and we always share a hot meal together afterwards too (cooked by our fantastic team of volunteers). We also love to perform in public regularly. We've got four choirs - two in London, one in Birmingham and one in Liverpool - and plans are afoot for a fifth choir later this year... We need donations to fund things like hiring rehearsal venues, travel to gigs, salaries, and food.   We would be so grateful for your support! Wirral began in November 2011, we are a volunteer led organisation, with nearly 200 individuals giving their time to support local people in the community. We are affiliated to the Trussell Trust, a Christian charity committed to community action against poverty and marginalisation. We meet the needs of all, regardless of faith or no faith, gender and race. The provision of food to individuals and families provides tangible support. We aim to provide tinned food that as far as possible offers a balanced diet that is geared towards the number of adults and children in the family. We seek the support of the local community, both individuals and business. In addition to weekly church food collections we hold regular supermarket collections. We hold monthly store collections at Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Asda and Morrisons. We also involve local schools, who donate food at Christmas and Harvest. Our aim is to involve as many people as possible; we regularly visit churches, church groups and schools promoting the work of the Foodbank.
