The Jamie Adamson Memorial Fund (UK, 1115913) Browse events

YTD Raised: £0.00

The JAM Fund is a registered charity, established in memory of my son who passed away aged five years after a courageous battle with cancer. Jamie was born on Christmas Day but sadly spent his last birthday being taken into intensive care. Established in March 2005, the Jamie Adamson Memorial Fund, (JAM Fund) tries to help children throughout the UK who are suffering from ANY serious illness. Although a very small charity, we do our best to also aid the families of children who like Jamie, have sadly passed away. Jamie's legacy has been to offer help to others like him and I am very proud to be his Dad. The charity has no paid workers and no offices and in this way it can ensure that the maximum amount donated goes directly where it should- to the children and families the charity tries to help. Please view the charity website at WWW.JAMFUND.CO.UK. As a charity, we believe that YOU should be able to SEE EXACTLY where YOUR money has been used. There are pictures and examples on the website to support this so please come and take a look. Thank you for your time and help, Having a child ill with cancer or any life threatening illness can take its toll on relationships and this has been the case with my own, hence I now run the charity with friends as my wife and I parted company. To this end, we also try to help families as a whole by offering holidays. Thanks for reading,  Paul,  (Jamie's Dad) and Chairman of the JAM Fund.

In May 2015 Hannah Francis was diagnosed with an aggressive form of bone cancer. At the time Hannah was 17 years old and intent on pursuing her dream of riding at the top level of eventing. The diagnosis initially gave some hope with extensive use of chemotherapy, but, as Hannah says “now we know it is more likely to be a case of keeping on dreaming big, fighting hard and never, ever giving up – no matter what this evil disease continues to throw at us”. In the last year she has turned her overwhelming determination to, as she puts it, “#kickingcancersbutt” and inspiring people with her drive and determination. But she doesn’t do it alone. Shortly after her diagnosis Hannah was given a stuffed toy pony, to become known as Willberry the Wonder Pony. Now Hannah and Willberry devote much of their time and energy to raising money for charity and what started as a local effort to raise funds to buy Hannah a decent wig after losing her hair, is now a formal charity – Hannah’s Willberry Wonder Pony Charity – established and driven by Hannah to raise funds for bone cancer research and to grant equine related wishes to seriously ill people and their families. And she says that, long term, the charity will be her legacy, “Even when the day comes that I won’t be able to get up in the morning I want you to continue to keep fighting for me so together we can beat cancer.”
