Inspired by an incredible wife and mother of five, Sharon Heazle (who was diagnosed with NETs in early 2012), the charity aims to support research into potential treatments for NETs and is linked to the work of Professor Magnus Essand of Uppsala University in Sweden who is pioneering a cancer-bashing oncolytic virus in his lab. All money raised by Lets Beat NETs is passed to Uppsala University to help them fund clinical trials with Prof Essand's virus to give those suffering from NETs hope for a better future.

Since January 2010, The Bush Homeopaths have been running biannual free mobile homeopathic clinics in The Gambia. The Bush Homeopaths are a group of UK based qualified homeopaths who are assisting a number of Gambian communities to improve their health through homeopathic treatment. We envision a future in which homeopathy will be recognised as an integral part of the Gambian healthcare system. The Bush Homeopaths' foremost objective is the relief and prevention of disease whilst working in co-operation with local communities. Our vision encompasses making homeopathy available to all communities as an affordable and valid form of health treatment. Our aim is to lay down a permanent base where homeopaths can spend longer periods of time in a cost effective manner. This would give us the opportunity to train local people and give them more consistent support. One of the villages has donated a plot of land for us to build a clinic, so convinced they are that homeopathy is appropriate and efficacious for them. We have raised enough funds to fence this land in and bring in a water supply. Our mission is, with your help, to build and furnish a clinic where we can not only treat more people but also train local Gambians to become qualified homeopaths and eventually run their own clinics.

Charitable funds are used in a wide variety of ways to provide those things that the Trust's main funding sources are unable to do. Such spending has included in the past, for example, additional facilities and equipment to assist in the treatment and comfort of patients and for the staff training and welfare. Our Diamond Appeal was launched to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the NHS and we are raising money for a digital breast scanner. All donations to the Diamond Appeal are completely separate from the Charitable Funds and are specifically for the digital breast scanner. They are not used for any other purpose. http://www.justgiving.com/Diamond-Appeal
