Our intention is to provide financial and other support to children in Zimbabwe suffering from any form of life threatening disorders or disabilities. The Autism Organisation Zimbabwe is a registered Private Voluntary Organisation (Registration No 33/11) in Zimbabwe. It's primary aim is the rehabilitation of children living with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Zimbabwe Brain Tumour Association is a registered Welfare Organisation, (PVO 26/2005) established in 2005 to raise awareness and to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of brain tumours in Zimbabwe. The Epilepsy Support Foundation Zimbabwe is a registered Welfare Organisation, established in April 1990 to promote and support people with epilepsy in Zimbabwe. It focuses on early detection, diagnosis, counselling, treatment and rehabilitation of people with epilepsy. The Children's Heart Foundation of Zimbabwe is a Charitable Trust that aims to assist in the treatment of children born in Zimbabwe with heart defects. Unfortunately there are currently no facilities in Zimbabwe for cardiac surgery for children and therefore they have to be sent out of the country for this essential treatment. The Zimbabwe Haemophilia Association is involved in the education of medical personnel and patients as well as sourcing and supply of the factor concentrates that need to be imported into Zimbabwe, making treatment difficult for many haemophiliacs. The Adam Dunning Foundation has been set up, by Sue and Dominic Dunning, in memory of Adam, their beautiful son, who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) in June 2012 and died from it on 15th October 2012, at only 7 years old, following many complications. They are trying to raise money for research into children's cancers because, in their words: "Adam Dunning is our hero and it is impossible to explain how hard life is without him! We want to raise money to fund research into all types of children's cancer to stop other families from losing children to this horrific disease and going through the hell that we do on a daily basis!" The land has been purchased, funds are now needed to build, furnish and run the Hospice. Young people with cerebral palsy in the Hastings and Peacehaven areas of East Sussex are now exercising by having fun thanks to the purchase of Wii’s by the Friends. They can even challenge their brothers and sisters to a game. Each week in East Sussex patients ranging from tiny babies to the very elderly are treated by community physiotherapists funded by the Friends. In the last year the Friends spent more than £40,000 on salaries for the physios and equipment, such as the Wii’s, for both physios and patients.
