(UK, X90004E) Browse eventsEveryman is an appeal of the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) to raise funds for its pioneering research into male cancers. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in British men with almost 41,000 new cases diagnosed each year, while testicular cancer remains the most common cancer in men aged 15-44. Our scientists have made significant breakthroughs in the diagnosis and treatment of male cancers, including discovering and developing the revolutionary prostate cancer drug abiraterone, which has been shown to extend life for patients with advanced prostate cancer. But more research needs to be done. Your generous support will help us to make a real impact on cancer patients’ lives.
(UK, 1138599) Browse eventsOlivias Vision was founded following the diagnosis of our own daughter in 2009, with the devastating, sight threatening disease Uveitis. The lack of support for sufferers, the lack of specialists and the lack of medical research led us to establish Olivias Vision. Without research, numerous patients with chronic uveitis will go blind. With no cure, the best outcome at present is remission. This is neither a guarantee of long-term vision, nor easy to attain. Every year 9000 sufferers are diagnosed in the UK, of whom 900 are children. Many will have to endure years of daily and weekly immunosuppression therapy. Olivias Vision needs your help. Without donations medical research cannot progress. Without your help we cannot hope to train more specialist Ocular Immunologists. Without your help adults and children will live in darkness. Please help by making a donation. Make our cause your cause. Thank you

Whilst based in Maidenhead, we work in the Thames Valley area. Many young people on the spectrum have special interests which they would like to share with others, but lack the social skills needed to do so. We can offer opportunities to help make those connections in a structured and understanding environment. We cater for children and young people aged between 11 and 25 who have a diagnosis of an autistic spectrum condition and are of mainstream ability, but need support to succeed in social situations. Our parent support groups are led by experienced staff and are run alongside our special interest groups. There is someone on hand to answer autism related questions in a welcoming and friendly space. The Autism Group is passionate about autism education for all and is committed to providing practical, affordable training for parents, carers and professionals. All training for parents is provided by trainers with children on the autism spectrum.

(UK, SCO43815) Browse eventsStammering affects around 1% of the total population which is a significant minority and this is often a very unheard section of society. We want to change this so that stammering is better understood by the general public and that people who have a stammer know where to go to for support when they need it. We are a small Scottish Charity run by unpaid volunteers and at present we run a support group and workshops for people who stammer which are free to attend, in order to make our help accessible to all. We want to set up more support groups across the whole of Scotland so that people of all ages with a stammer know that there is a place where they can turn to for help. With support from fundraising we will be able to help even more people and raise awareness of the condition with the general public.
