This project was so successful, with both groups benefiting hugely from their involvement, that it was decided they would undertake furtherprojects. Since 2002, Clydesdale Community Initiatives, also known as CCI, have set up a landscaping trading side to the business and have worked on a myriad of projects, all of which have had community or participant input. By incorporating the principle that no one should be defined in terms of their support needs, rather they should be recognised for the contribution they areable to offer, CCI's participants have gained invaluable experience of vocationaland social skills and as a result have increased in their self-confidence and well-being, thusoften reducing long term demands on mainstream services.
