Together, we provide a 24 hour service giving emotional support to people experiencing distress or despair, including thoughts that may lead to suicide. Our service is confidential. We don't give advice and we don’t judge we are here to help by listening. Samaritans can be contacted by phone, email, text or you can visit our branch, which is in Fishermead in Milton Keynes. All our members are volunteers but we need your donations to keep our branch running and our phone lines available. Your support will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
As an organisation working with and for older people in the city of Sunderland for over 60 years, Age UK Sunderland believe firmly in our mission statement and aim - ‘To promote the well being of all older people throughout the City of Sunderland, improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence.’ Every donation we receive will help us to make a personal difference to the lives of older people, their families and carers throughout Sunderland. We help those who are lonely and isolated by offering a home-visiting service by one of our trained volunteers. We assist older people experiencing financial hardship to claim their benefit entitlements. We provide someone to turn to for information and advice in order to find solutions, reduce anxiety and rediscover a sense of empowerment. We organise day opportunities and social activities - including day and lunch clubs, day services, computer classes, exercise classes, to name but a few. We support people to remain independent in their own homes. We are there for older people in times of need and when, perhaps, there is no-one else to turn to or even family and friends need more information and support. We depend on donations to ensure that we can continue to work alongside, help, support and empower 2,000 older people per week in Sunderland. Many thanks for your help.

We support the unpaid carers in Coventry and Warwickshire who look after friends or family members who are elderly, have a disability or are frail due to poor health. Caring is often a 24 hour per day, 7 day per week role. This can often have a detrimental effect on the carers own health. For this reason we aim to offer the carer a break by taking their place and looking after their loved one for a short while. This gives carers the time to catch up with chores, take part in a recreational activity or even just relax for a short time. This short while to 'recharge' can help prevent the decline in the carers health.
